This IITian Created An Amazing Resume To Land Job At Flipkart

When they say you gotta sell yourself well to land a good job, some people take it rather literally. Throwing himself into the job “market”, Akash Neeraj Mittal, an IIT-Kharagpur alumnus, did something truly incredible to land an APM role at Flipkart. He designed his resume after the Flipkart product page.

“When you are a 6-pointer and competing with best of the best minds of the country, you know how hard it is to land a job. You start doing some crazy and random stuff to stand out from the crowd. It took 70 hours for an Amateur Photoshop-er like me to make this resume.”, says Akash on his Facebook.

Complete with a Flipkart’s product page’s look and feel, Akash’s resume purportedly puts him up for sale on Flipkart. It lists his price, or his expected CTC, at Rs. 27.6 lacs. The product’s dimensions become his height and weight, and the product details give out his contact information. The features list  is peppered with adjectives such as Fliptastic, Flipper, Fliptorious and Flipterate – he’s applying to Flipkart after all.

Akash’s move is reminiscent of a few notable examples of people in the west who have crafted a resume, customised for the company they wanted a job at. Be it Philip Dobost for Amazon’s product page resume, or Nina Mufleh’s popular resume for AirBnB, these hopefuls went all out there to snatch the coveted job at the tech giant they desired to work. There was one snitch though. None of them actually got the job.

Will Akash manage to get the job of his dreams? We’ll have to wait to find out.
