“Belgian authorities informed the Indian embassy that Raghavendran Ganeshan was identified among dead today. The body is on its way back to India via Amsterdam. Sincere condolences to the family,” Indian Ambassador to Belgium Manjeev Singh Puri said.
Raghuvendran Ganesan had been working in Brussels for four years on a project. He had visited India last month when his wife had a baby, his mother told reporters last week.
The Indian external affairs ministry had been trying to locate Ganesan over the last week. External affairs minister Sushma Swaraj had tweeted his picture in the hope that someone would identify him.
