When in India do as Indians do, and Tim Cook seems to be following this to the T. The Apple CEO who’s on his maiden visit to India ever since taking the reigns from Late Steve Jobs is making the most of his trip.
We reported his agenda for his 4 day trip which includes announcing an Apple incubator and development centre in Bangalore, a Maps centre in Hyderabad and hobnobbing with the government regarding policy around Apple iPhones. He would be meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi tomorrow. He’s even met up with the founders of Indian app startups Urban Clap, amongst others.
However, like a good traveler to India, he’s also experiencing India beyond the sightseeing. After partying with Bollywood‘s A list and hobnobbing with the startup elite, he was seen enjoying an IPL match in Kanpur yesterday.
“It is tough to watch the game in this heat but I have never felt anything like this before. I see how important cricket is, how important sport is. India is hugely important. It is a great market place. India has an incredible future ahead. I am very optimistic,” said Tim Cook, while speaking to a reporter at the venue.
IPL chairman Rajiv Shukla acknowledged Cook’s presence and tweeted about the same.

He also received a special edition Apple watch from Cook.
Cook has an important job to do on this trip to India, touted as second largest smartphone market after the US, and he seems to be making all the right moves.
