Offices today are getting cooler. Google has a floor-long slide in its Zurich office, Facebook’s office has an in-house hair salon, and LivePerson’s office has hammocks to kick back and relax in. But these embellishments pale in comparison with what NetDragon Websoft, a Chinese gaming company has done to its office. It’s made the entire building in the shape of the USS Enterprise.
The founder of NetDragon, Liu Dejian, is reportedly a huge Star Trek fan. It was this devotion to the series that made him construct the sprawling 853 foot long building that cost $97 million.
The building is modeled after the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-E and constructed to scale. The company even took permission from CBS before embarking on the mega construction project. CBS officials initially dismissed their requests as a joke, but became a lot more serious when building designs started pouring in.
Construction on the building started in 2010 and finished in May 2014. As if the funky exterior wasn’t enough, the building also houses a life size replica of a T-Rex.
May this company live long and prosper.
