Company logos can come to mean a lot — they can symbolize a brand, they can led to instant customer recall, and they can even become iconic bits of art in their own right. But some companies go to extreme lengths to make their logos memorable: apart from making them eye-catching and attractive, they also add some hidden messages in them. Here are some of the prominent ones
1.Amazon
Amazon’s logo might seem simple: it’s basically the word ‘amazon’ with a yellow arrow. But look closely at the placement of the arrow. It starts off at A and ends at Z, signifying the A-Z selection of goods that’s available at Amazon.
2. Cisco
Networking company Cisco again seems to have a pretty straightforward logo. Cisco is a networking company, and the lines at the top are meant to look like a digital signal. But what most people don’t realize is that the lines are also meant to look like the Golden Gate Bridge — Cisco had started off in San Francisco, and the logo maker gave put in the iconic landmark of the city as an homage.
3. FedEx
FedEx’s logo is amongst the most recognized in the world. The colours represent vibrancy and urgency, which works perfectly with FedEx’s mission to deliver packages quickly. But hidden within the logo — between the E and the X — is a right-facing arrow. The logo’s designer has said that the arrow “could connote forward direction, speed, and precision.”
4. Baskin Robbins
Baskin Robbins has a nice, happy logo. But hidden in plain sight is the number 31 in pink, an homage to the original 31 flavours of Baskin Robbins ice cream that were available.
5. Beats
Beats’ logo looks like a simple B, the first letter of the company’s name. But look closely — the logo also looks like a person wearing headophones. Pretty rad, if you ask us.
6. Toblerone
Toblerone is one of the most recognizable Swiss chocolates, and its logo is a mountain, presumably one on the Swiss Alps. But the logo maker has cleverly hidden a bear in the relief of the mountain. It’s meant to be an homage to Bern, Switzerland, which is also knowns as the city of bears, and also where the chocolate comes from.
7. LG
LG’s logo looks like what it says on the tin: the letters L and G. But look closely — the logo also looks like a human face, with the L forming the nose, and the G forming the outline. Research shows that humans tend to respond positively to other human faces, and the logo maker cleverly incorporated this into the LG logo.
8. Sun Microsystems
And perhaps the most mind-bendingly complex logo is that of Sun Microsystems. No matter how you look at it, it spells the word Sun, read diagonally in any direction. And the end result looks pretty to boot.
