Anthropic Raises $30 Billion At $380 Billion Valuation, Says Revenue Has Touched $14 Billion

There appears to be no stopping the surge in valuations of the top AI labs.

Anthropic has announced a massive $30 billion Series G funding round led by GIC and Coatue, valuing the AI safety startup at $380 billion post-money. The investment marks one of the largest funding rounds in technology history and cements Anthropic’s position as a dominant force in the rapidly expanding enterprise AI market.

The round was co-led by D. E. Shaw Ventures, Dragoneer, Founders Fund, ICONIQ, and MGX, with participation from a roster of prominent institutional investors including Accel, Addition, Alpha Wave Global, Altimeter, BlackRock, Blackstone, Fidelity, Goldman Sachs, JPMorganChase, Sequoia Capital, and others. The round also includes portions of previously announced investments from Microsoft and NVIDIA.

Explosive Revenue Growth

The investment comes as Anthropic reports remarkable financial performance. The company’s run-rate revenue has reached $14 billion, growing more than 10x annually in each of the past three years. This growth trajectory is particularly notable given that Anthropic earned its first dollar in revenue less than three years ago.

“Whether it is entrepreneurs, startups, or the world’s largest enterprises, the message from our customers is the same: Claude is increasingly becoming more critical to how businesses work,” said Krishna Rao, Anthropic’s Chief Financial Officer. “This fundraising reflects the incredible demand we are seeing from these customers, and we will use this investment to continue building the enterprise-grade products and models they have come to depend on.”

The company has seen dramatic expansion in its enterprise customer base. The number of customers spending over $100,000 annually on Claude has grown 7x in the past year. More impressively, the number of customers spending over $1 million annually has surged from just a dozen two years ago to over 500 today. Eight of the Fortune 10 companies are now Claude customers.

Claude Code Drives New Category

A major driver of Anthropic’s growth has been Claude Code, the company’s agentic coding platform that represents what the company calls “a new era of agentic coding.” Made generally available to the public in May 2025, Claude Code has already achieved over $2.5 billion in run-rate revenue, a figure that has more than doubled since the beginning of 2026.

Weekly active users of Claude Code have doubled since January 1, and recent analysis estimates that 4% of all GitHub public commits worldwide are now being authored by Claude Code—double the percentage from just one month prior. Business subscriptions have quadrupled since the start of 2026, with enterprise use now representing over half of all Claude Code revenue.

Product Innovation and Market Expansion

Anthropic has maintained an aggressive pace of product launches. In January alone, the company released more than thirty products and features, including Cowork, which extends Claude Code’s capabilities to broader knowledge work tasks. Cowork includes eleven open-source plugins that transform Claude into a specialist for specific roles in sales, legal, finance, and other business functions.

The company has also expanded into healthcare and life sciences, with Claude for Enterprise now available to organizations operating under HIPAA compliance requirements.

Last week, Anthropic launched its newest model, Opus 4.6, which the company says can power agents capable of managing entire categories of real-world work and generating professional-quality documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. The model currently leads on GDPval-AA, a benchmark measuring performance on economically valuable knowledge work tasks in finance, legal, and other domains.

Infrastructure and Platform Strategy

The Series G funding will support Anthropic’s infrastructure expansion as it makes Claude available across multiple platforms. Claude is currently the only frontier AI model available on all three major cloud platforms: Amazon Web Services (Bedrock), Google Cloud (Vertex AI), and Microsoft Azure (Foundry).

The company trains and runs Claude on a diversified range of AI hardware, including AWS Trainium, Google TPUs, and NVIDIA GPUs, allowing it to optimize workloads for different chip architectures. This multi-platform approach provides both performance advantages and operational resilience for enterprise customers.

“Since our initial investment in 2025, Anthropic’s focus on agentic coding and enterprise-grade AI systems has accelerated its progress toward large-scale adoption,” said Philippe Laffont, Founder & Portfolio Manager of Coatue. “The team’s ability to rapidly scale its offerings further positions Anthropic as a leader in a highly competitive AI market.”

“Anthropic is the clear category leader in enterprise AI, demonstrating breakthrough capabilities and setting a new standard for safety, performance, and scale that will drive their long-term success,” added Choo Yong Cheen, Chief Investment Officer, Private Equity, GIC.
