Google Launches Nano Banana Pro For Advanced Image Editing In 4K Resolution

When Google had smashed benchmarks earlier this week with its Gemini 3 model, it seems to have been only getting started.

Google has released the Nano Banana Pro image editing model. Google says the model, which seems to be an iteration of the hugely successful Nano Banana, has more advanced capabilities such as reasoning, powered by Gemini 3, and can generate 4K resolution images. Nano Banana Pro is available on Gemini and Google AI Studio, and even on other Google products such as Google AI model, NotebookLM and its video editor, Flow.

Reasoning And Image Generation

Built using the Gemini 3 Pro architecture, Nano Banana Pro represents a significant leap from its predecessor by integrating advanced reasoning capabilities directly into the image generation process. The model can now create context-rich visuals that go beyond aesthetic appeal, producing educational infographics, accurate diagrams, and data visualizations that leverage both the input content and real-world knowledge.

The integration with Google Search allows Nano Banana Pro to incorporate real-time information into generated images, from current weather conditions to live sports data, making it particularly valuable for content creators who need up-to-date visual information.

Improved Text Rendering

One of Nano Banana Pro’s standout features is its ability to generate legible text directly within images across multiple languages. Google claims this is the best-in-class capability for text rendering, handling everything from short taglines to longer paragraphs with accuracy.

The model’s multilingual capabilities extend beyond simple translation. It can localize content while maintaining design consistency, enabling businesses to scale their visual content internationally. The examples Google provided demonstrate sophisticated typography, from architectural lettering integrated into cityscapes to calligraphic interpretations of onomatopoeia.

Complex Compositions and Creative Control

Nano Banana Pro supports up to 14 input images in a single composition while maintaining consistency across up to five people—a significant upgrade that opens new possibilities for product mockups, marketing materials, and creative projects. This allows professionals to bridge the gap between concept sketches and photorealistic renders, or combine disparate visual elements into cohesive scenes.

The model introduces studio-quality controls previously limited to professional editing software. Users can adjust camera angles, modify lighting conditions (including day-to-night transformations), apply color grading, and control depth of field. These localized editing capabilities give creators precise control over specific image regions without compromising the overall composition.

High-Resolution Output for Professional Use

Supporting both 2K and 4K resolution output across multiple aspect ratios, Nano Banana Pro positions itself as a professional-grade tool suitable for print, digital media, and high-quality marketing materials. This resolution upgrade addresses a key limitation of many AI image generators that have been primarily optimized for web use.

Availability and Pricing Tiers

Google is rolling out Nano Banana Pro across its product ecosystem with a tiered access model. Free-tier Gemini app users receive limited quotas before reverting to the original Nano Banana model, while Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers get progressively higher usage limits.

For professionals, the model is being integrated into Google Ads, giving advertisers access to advanced creative tools. Workspace users will find it in Google Slides and Vids, while developers can access it through the Gemini API, Google AI Studio, and Vertex AI for enterprise applications.

Notably, Google AI Ultra subscribers using the Flow filmmaking tool gain access to enhanced precision controls for video production workflows.

Nano Banana Pro Watermarks

Addressing growing concerns about AI-generated content identification, Google has embedded its SynthID digital watermark in all images produced by Nano Banana Pro. The company is now allowing users to upload images to the Gemini app to verify whether they were generated by Google AI tools, with plans to extend this capability to audio and video.

Free and Google AI Pro tier users will see a visible Gemini sparkle watermark on generated images, while Google AI Ultra subscribers and Google AI Studio users receive unmarked images for professional applications that require clean visual canvases.

Nano Banana’s Virality

Google had been struggling in the consumer AI race, and Nano Banana was the release that had truly taken it mainstream. Image outputs from Nano Banana had gone viral, and got millions of new users to Google’s platforms. Competitors didn’t have a ready answer — even three months after its release, Nano Banana remains the best AI image editing model out there. And with the company now releasing an even more capable version, Google could be looking to take an insurmountable lead in the AI image editing space.
