I’m Not Going Back To ChatGPT After Using Google’s Gemini 3: Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff

Google’s Gemini 3 has topped nearly all benchmarks, and it’s finding itself some illustrious fans too.

Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff says that he isn’t going back to ChatGPT after using Google’s Gemini 3. “Holy shit. I’ve used ChatGPT every day for 3 years. Just spent 2 hours on Gemini 3. I’m not going back. The leap is insane — reasoning, speed, images, video… everything is sharper and faster. It feels like the world just changed, again,” he posted on X.

Benioff’s endorsement is interesting, because Salesforce is seen as an organization that’s been leaning in into the AI revolution. Salesforce had said in January that it wouldn’t be hiring any software engineers this year because of gains from AI. In June, Benioff had said that AI was doing 30-50% percent of work at the company, and in September, Salesforce cut 4,000 customer support roles by replacing them with AI.

Benioff isn’t the only person who seems impressed with Gemini 3. Social media is littered with praise for the new model, with many saying that they’ll be switching from ChatGPT to Gemini. This is also being seen in traffic numbers — visitors to Gemini have jumped 17% since the release of Gemini 3, and are up 5x in the last twelve months.

Gemini 3 has already topped nearly all benchmarks when the model was released, including benchmarks in math, science and coding. Since its release, it has also topped topped benchmarks that test models on physics and math research. And with Fortune 500 company executives publicly saying that they’re switching from ChatGPT to Gemini, OpenAI will have its work cut out to defend the market leadership it has built in consumer-facing AI over the last few years.
