Barely an hour ago, Tata Sons made a shock announcement replacing Cyrus Mistry as the Chairman of India’s largest conglomerate. In stepped in Ratan Tata, who’s been appointed the Interim Chairman. Tata had vacated the post for Mistry after he’d turned 75 in 2012.
And Twitter’s having a field day with the development. Ratan Tata is one of India’s most respected business figures, and his comeback got India’s netizens into a frenzy.
Ratan Tata returns as the chairman of Tata Group. We should rename Ratan Tata as Return Aata.

There are also references to Ratan Tata’s comments yesterday, in which he’d said that “everyone” knew where India’s latest surge of intolerance was coming from.
Just to bury his Intolerance comment, Ratan Tata fired Cyrus Mistry.

And finally, speculation over the causes behind the decision has already begun.
This is sensational ! #CyrusMistry exits Tata Sons & #RNTata returns? Something smells!! There are no real satraps at Tata anymore.
