We have all done it. We’ve sneakily caught an episode, or gone on whole TV show marathons when there wasn’t much work at office. It’s usually harmless. But if you’re a working in a hospital and there are patients to be looked after and lives to be saved, watching a movie doesn’t seem to be the best idea.
A government hospital employee learnt it the hard way. He was enjoying a movie while at work when he received a tap on his shoulder. It was Manish Sisodia, New Delhi’s deputy chief minister from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) who was on a surprise check. And since it’s the 21st century, a video captures Sisodia’s visit, his approach into the room passing along a serpentine queue of patients, and catching the miscreant from behind.

The minister is duly angry and the employee gets duly rebuked. And while the errant employee’s stammering explanations are cringeworthy, we can’t help but sympathize. Getting fired is bad enough – having a viral video made out of it is infinitely worse.
