Starting up is never easy. There’s blood, sweat, tears, and a whole lot of sacrifice. Your life begins revolving around your company, and other aspects can often take a backseat. So when InMobi cofounder Naveen Tewari was asked to rank his wife, his company and cricket in order of preference, his response was clear – InMobi was the most important thing in his life.
Naveen Tewari is one of the young stars of the Indian startup ecosystem. His company, InMobi, is a part of the elusive Unicorn club and has a valuation that exceeds $1 billion, and his own personal net worth is estimated to be a cool Rs. 1668 crore. InMobi today is India’s premier product company, has offices in 12 countries and is challenging Google and Facebook in the mobile advertising space. Yet all this success doesn’t come easy.
Tewari first laughs when confronted with the question. “InMobi, wife and cricket.”, is his reply though. “I can’t reverse the order”, he adds sheepishly. Tewari is a huge cricket fan, and one of his dreams is to play cricket for India. Yet that, and his wife, don’t compare to his zeal for running his company. He’s devoted to it, and will stop at nothing to see it succeed.
We just hope the missus wasn’t watching.
