Google Gemini is fast climbing the ranks of the most visited websites in the world.
The AI assistant reached 1.351 billion visits in November 2025, propelling it to the 26th position in global website rankings—a jump of four spots from October, according to data from SimilarWeb. The 14.36% month-over-month growth represents one of the most significant traffic increases among top websites globally.

Gemini’s Standout Performance in a Declining Market
Gemini’s November surge stands in stark contrast to broader web traffic trends. Of the top 30 websites worldwide, only three experienced month-over-month growth in visits: Amazon grew 3.81%, Netflix increased 0.40%, and Gemini led with its 14.36% jump.
The year-over-year comparison is even more striking. While Gemini’s monthly growth was impressive, its year-over-year trajectory shows explosive expansion of 391.68%—nearly quintupling its traffic from November 2024.
The Generative AI Competitive Landscape
The November rankings reveal a competitive but stratified generative AI market. ChatGPT maintains its commanding position at number 5 globally, unchanged from October. However, the gap between the leader and the rest of the field remains substantial.
Gemini’s climb to 26th place puts it firmly in second position among generative AI platforms, though still well behind ChatGPT’s top-five placement. DeepSeek holds the third spot at number 91, up one position from October.
The rankings show mixed fortunes for other AI platforms. Grok made a notable leap, jumping 27 spots to reach number 128. Microsoft Copilot also gained ground, moving up seven positions to number 318. Character AI climbed modestly, rising three spots to number 174.
In contrast, some platforms lost momentum. Perplexity experienced the steepest decline among major AI tools, falling 26 positions to number 167 after ranking 141st in October. Claude also slipped, dropping 11 spots to number 176 from its October position at 165.
What’s Driving Gemini’s Growth
Google’s Gemini 3 Pro model release seems to have spurred usage, with traffic rising 17% since its release. Also, image editing capabilities through the Nano Banana Pro model have also brought lots of new users to Gemini. In addition, Gemini has been aggressively promoting its services through TV ads in markets like India.
The timing of Gemini’s acceleration is particularly notable given the maturation of the consumer AI market. While early adopters fueled initial growth across the sector, sustained double-digit monthly gains suggest Gemini is successfully reaching mainstream users who may have been hesitant to try standalone AI platforms.
The Road Ahead
Gemini’s trajectory raises questions about the sustainability of its growth rate and its ability to close the gap with ChatGPT. At its current pace, Gemini could potentially break into the top 20 websites globally within months, though maintaining 14% monthly growth would be unprecedented for a site of its scale.
For Google, Gemini’s rise validates its substantial AI investments and its strategy of leveraging existing user relationships. For the broader AI industry, the November data underscores that the market remains dynamic, with significant room for platforms to gain or lose ground based on product quality, distribution advantages, and user experience.
As the generative AI space continues to evolve, Gemini’s November performance suggests that the competitive hierarchy is far from settled—and that Google’s late entry into the consumer AI race may be gaining serious momentum.
