Carpooling is the flavour of the season. The established players in the cab hailing market Uber and Ola have launched their own versions, and a slew of carpooling apps have come up. Now the oldest cab-hailing service has jumped on the carpool bandwagon. Meru has launched its own ridesharing service. The pilot version of the project will be kicked off in Delhi-NCR.

Ola has launched its auto hailing service in Chandigarh. It is the 7th city in the country to have the service, after Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Pune were added in October 2014. The company intends to add two more cities by the end of the year.
