4 Sure Signs You Know It’s Time To Get A New Job!

We spend more time at work than at home, so if you are not feeling happy at work, it can be damaging to your health and confidence. Although it is most important to earn money to pay the bills, you need to be passionate about the work you are doing. After all, a job you hate could lead to you feeling miserable, and could affect your home life. Here are further reasons you may need to get a new job.

Hate your colleagues

As we spend most of the time with our colleagues, it’s a very good thing to get on with them. If you get a great group of people, they can soon become your close friends. But unfortunately, it’s not always the case that everyone gets on. There can be clashes of personalities and rows can often occur among staff.

But sometimes it can turn into bullying. Some people say the workplace can be as bad as a school playground for bullies, and gossiping. You can try and ignore it, and spend time with other staff members. But sometimes it just doesn’t work out. You can take it further to HR. But if nothing doesn’t get resolved, it might be time to get a new job and work with nicer people.

Underpaid

If you are getting underpaid, then it might be time to look for another job role. If you have been in a role for a while and still getting the same amount of money, it’s worth considering whether this is the job for you. Your pay should be reviewed at least after 12 months, and if you feel the pay for the role isn’t right you should have a word with your boss. If they refuse to up the wage, it might be wise to start job searching. You won’t feel fulfilled if you are not adequately being paid for your efforts.

Not flexible

If you need your job to be more flexible, then it could be time to find a new position. Whether it’s for health reasons, or you want more time with your family, a new position might allow for more flexible work. Spending time with your child is crucial. If your job is not allowing you to see them enough, you should start searching for something new. The same goes for sickness; if you need time off for appointments and your job aren’t okay with it, you should look at what else you could be doing.

Not inspired by your boss

Being inspired by your boss and the company is critical. If you don’t agree with the stance that your boss is taking with the company, then it might be time to look for a new job. As we discussed here about bosses from hell, you have to try and see the positive about your boss. They are, after all, humans and make mistakes. But if your morals are being tested, it might be time to quit.

It’s always good to try another position if you are not feeling happy in the role. We are constantly learning and improving, and if a job is holding you back, it’s time to move on.
