Time’s annual list that chronicles the most influential people across the world is out, and the Indian startup ecosystem has a reason to rejoice. Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal, the founders of India’s most valuable startup, Flipkart, have found their place amongst the world’s top luminaries, which include Mark Zuckerberg, Tim Cook and Donald Trump.
The Time 100 list isn’t a ranking, but it indicates the influence the members hold in their respective spheres. From being bright-eyed entrepreneurs when they founded Flipkart in 2007, the Sachin and Binny have now become senior statesmen of the Indian ecosystem, guiding younger entrepreneurs and investing in new companies. Both founders are also dollar billionaires thanks to their 7.5% stock holding in Flipkart.
