Pepperfry’s New Technology Centre in Bangalore Is a Reflection of Its Offerings

Furniture and home products marketplace Pepperfry has launched its new Technology Office in Bangalore. Inspired by Pepperfry’s pursuit to nurture an inclusive and vibrant workspace, their in-house Spatial Design team has tried to curate each aspect of the new office as a reflection of the brand’s cultural and design ethos. The two-storeyed office, which spans a carpet area of around 6500 sqft, is situated at Banaswadi, Bangalore above Pepperfry’s Studio.

This new establishment will house over 40 technology and product experts. “Our aim, while designing the office, was to create a space that encourages collaborative work, fosters an inclusive culture and boosts creativity along with cognizant thinking,” said Saloni Khosla, Head- Spatial Design, Pepperfry. “We believe this new tech office is sure to draw on the rich and varied skill-sets and talent that the city is recognized for,” she added.

Mirroring the organization’s values, the new office space encourages collaborative work with its open-floor design plan consisting of several informal work-desk options and Open Pods with tons of writing boards to facilitate brainstorming and planning. The office does not include a formal reception desk unlike other offices thereby making the most out of the office layout by maximizing available space. For focused individual work, the office has a lot to offer – from phone booths and Zoom rooms to a terrace spill over seating to enjoy the ‘oh so lovely’ Bangalore weather.

To ensure that the employees feel a sense of belonging to the Pepperfry family, the office is filled with employee photos and past publication clippings. Additionally, the spatial team has enhanced the setting with quirky illustrations and witty lines on walls that is sure to be a mood lifter and conversation starter. The office is lined with graphics and posters that are not only fun but also highlight technological terms along with some focus on localization – elements that any Bangalorian can connect with.

And for a company that sells furniture, Pepperfry tries out its own dofgood as well — the office is adorned with the quirkiest yet the most functional furniture pieces from the Pepperfry website, a striking metal container door at the entrance in bright orange and colour blocked floors that add an element of fun in the otherwise monochrome building.

The most striking aspects of the office include:

  • Lounge area: To ensure people have a more “chill” area to work from or have informal brainstorms, the spatial team has curated open bunker like seating as well as snug bean bags and comfy chairs wherein employees can play and plug in from wherever needed
  • An Amphitheatre: The office has an amphitheatre designed to make people feel welcomed with the best technology and where employees can showcase presentations. The space can also be converted into a movie theatre, perfect for all the binge-watchers at the company.
  • Game zone: Following the motto of ‘Work-Hard, Play-Harder’, the office has a dedicated game zone with games like table tennis and PlayStation 5 among others.
  • Lunch area: As the saying goes – ‘A family that eats together, stays together’. The aroma of Malabari biriyani, String hoppers with Chettinad curry and Kadhi-chawal from each tiffin, wafting through the air in this de-stress zone gets the Pepperfry family together, that is otherwise on its toes.
