Google executive Dan Fredinburg has died after suffering head injuries in the avalanche that struck Mount Everest following the Nepal Earthquake. Fredinburg, 33, was the Head of Privacy at Google X, Google’s secretive arm behind projects such the the self driving car and Google Glass. Fredinburg also was an avid mountaineer, and led the Google Adventure team.
Dan Freidman was attempting to scale Mount Everest with follow Googlers Michele Battelli and Flo Nagl. He had been posting daily updates to this twitter and instagram accounts, posting an evocative and sometimes wacky picture of what it’s like to climb the world’s tallest mountain.
Tributes continued to pour in for the young executive, who friends described as “one of the greats of his generation”
