The Indian government has just approved a bill (the Maternity Benefit (Amendment) Bill) to extend the mandated maternity leave from 12 weeks to 26 weeks in all organizations employing 10 or more people.
Microsoft India has joined the league of companies which have increased maternity leave for their women employees. From February 1, women employees in the company will be eligible for maternity leave of 6 months.
