Uber, in partnership with Droom, an online marketplace for automobiles, has entered into another strategic alliance with Uber for the festive period to bring on-demand chopper rides to Indian consumers.
Uber has expanded its operations in India to 4 more cities, bringing up its total count to 26. The new cities added are Ajmer, Jodhpur, Udaipur and Mangalore.
Uber isn’t going to be restricted to registered taxis in Delhi any more. Starting 16th December, private car owners will be able to offer rides to other passengers. This move has come in the wake of the Delhi government looking at ways to enable more people to commute with fewer cars after the implementation of the odd-even formula.

Uber’s taking rapid steps towards setting up its Hyderabad office. After announcing plans of setting up its largest non-US office in the city in July, the company announced that it has leased 150,000 square feet for its Hyderabad office.
Practo has said that it is tying up with taxi hailing app Uber to ferry patients to their doctors. Across India, Indonesia, Philippines and Singapore, those who book an appointment on Practo’s mobile application will be able to view the closest Uber available along with the appointment reminder alert.
Uber has turned to government portal to hire credible drivers in India. They will be looking for the drivers registered on National career scheme(NCS) portal, which is having a pool of job-seekers, verified and authenticated by government.
